  1. Macos No Packages Were Eligible For Install Os X. Download, install, and launch CleanMyMac X. Choose Optimization from the sidebar on the left. Select View all items. Check the box next to Launch Agents; Press Run.
  2. No packages were eligible for install. This is what it looks like in the installer. Upon seeing this I went 'HUH?' Because the installation was from a thumb drive I'd used many times to install Mac OS X (El Capitan) successfully. The above image came from an attempt to install El Capitan.

That workaround will only list and install older versions of the packages from September 2015 or earlier (when the archive.org copy of the JSON file was made, I presume). Even if you try to upgrade a package you will not get a newer one unless you bypass Package Control and install the package manually. Last night, when attempting to restore three iMacs to a fresh Install of OS X, I was left with an annoying and slightly frightening message: “OS X Cannot Be Installed On This Computer.” For some strange reason, this happened to me on three different iMacs, all of which previously had Bootcamp partitions. Resetting your PRAM is simple. First, completely shut down your Mac via the Apple Toolbar. Then, hold down Command, Option, P, and R buttons on your keyboard as you restart your Mac. Continue to keep these buttons held until you hear the Mac startup chime twice. After the second chime, let go of the buttons and let your Mac restart as normal.
